A central Pennsylvania animal shelter is looking for new homes for above a dozen pets that had previously been displaced nearly 5 years ago by Hurricane Katrina.
The dogs and cats were initially part of a pack of 100 pet refugees rescued by the lady in Texas in the hurricane’s aftermath.
In accordance with the Center County PAWS shelter, the unidentified woman had found new homes for some pets before she moved to Pennsylvania in 2006 and took 75 pets along with her.
The lady found new owners for more pets, but a recent crisis enforced her to give up caring for the residual animals.
The shelter said previous month it initially took in almost 2 dozen Katrina pet refugees. Its Web site Thursday showed 11 cats and 3 dogs pending adoption.

Katrina is often on the lookout for different things and makes sure she brings something for family and friends. For her, it is the remembrance that is important, not the fashion,” said the friend of Katrina.
Bollywood actress Katrina used an Auto Rikshaw to return home as she cannot find her SUV in a city multiplex after she watched the film Ishqiya.
The actress had come to the theatre with a drive few body guards. The actress cannot find her driver due to poor connectivity in the basement, as soon as she came out of the multiplex.
Katrina Kaif then decided to take an AutoRiksha accompanied by her manager. Katrina was dressed in a jeans and a t-shirt. Her body guards were following her in another AutoRikshaw. Lots of fans noticed her walking on the road and were surprised by the mode of transport she had opt for.
Katrina is reconsidering taking on Abbas Mustan’s remake of ‘The Italian Job’. This is because her role is it seems that rather unimportant.
Katrina Kaif is having second thoughts about the film as she read the script, even though she readily agreed at first. According to sources, as Katrina started giving hits, she has become picky about her roles and won’t sign on whatever thing just because it has big names. Katrina also doesn’t want to sign on the film as she believes her role has no scope.
Katrina was keen on doing the film at first because it starred Saif Ali Khan. But she lost interest in the film as soon as Saif left it. This is not the first film she has turned down. Actually, in recent months, it is the 3rd film she has refused after agreeing to be a part of it initially, the other 2 being Sanjay Gadhvi’s ‘7 Days In Paris’ and Anees Bazmee’s ‘Thank You’. However, Katrina may agree to be a part of ‘The Italian Job’ if the required changes in the script are made.

NEW ORLEANS — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit over a police blockade that kept back a few Hurricane Katrina victims from crossing a bridge out of New Orleans in the storm’s aftermath.
U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon on Monday ruled that concluding the Crescent City Connection to pedestrians after the Aug. 2005 hurricane did not amount to an “unreasonable restraint of liberty.”
Mary Ann Vial Lemmon had ruled in 2007 that authorities didn’t violate Tracy and Dorothy Dickerson’s constitutional right to travel by means of stopping them from crossing the Mississippi River Bridge to escape the aftermath of the hurricane Katrina. The residual issues included whether police used excessive force and whether the Dickersons’ freedom-of-assembly and the same protection rights were violated.
This turn came for Katrina to act nobly by adopting an abandoned cub, while shooting for her newest film ‘Rajneeti’ in Bhopal.
The site of deserted cub came first to Bhopal villager’s notice, which came to its rescue and handed it to its new owner Katrina Kaif. The cub is named Catreena after the actress adopted it and like a proud mother she was keen in showing curiosity towards it.
According to the sources report it has been heard that the officials of the wild department of the area have even received a call from Katrina’s assistant who wanted to know about the complete process of adopting the cub.
“Catreena” was reported to be beautiful also silky like Katrina according to the villagers.
