Now that Priyanka Chopra will play an important role in Anurag Basu’s Khamoshi, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina has backed out of the film. It seems when Anurag had signed Katrina Kaif for the project, he had not mentioned the fact that he would be signing another actress for an important role. So when Katrina Kaif heard about Priyanka joining the cast, she decided to not be a part of a trio, which would simply add fuel to the rumour mills.

Fortunately for her, her long-standing wish came true at the same time. Katrina kaif had been trying to acquire the rights to remake a French film for a long time and the deal has lastly come through. She wanted to get started on the project right away and would have been able to do that only if she gave up one of her present assignments. With work on Tees Maar Khan and Dostana 2 begun, Khamoshi was the apparent choice.

Katrina Kaif is also looking forward to the French film remake as she will get to finally play a pessimistic character that of a gold digger.
